Performance of the AdvanTex® Treatment Plant

  • AdvanTex® is approved by the NSF.
  • Rotorua Controlled Testing - AdvanTex® comes out on top.
Third party tests of the AdvanTex® system show that it can consistently outperform other treatment plants. This means you can be sure of protecting your family's health and the environment around your home. Long-term, verifiable performance data has been collected to support these claims.

The liquid from the AdvanTex® is clear and odourless. Not only protecting the environment and your family, but safe enough for garden irrigation. The AdvanTex® treats effluent to a level better than the secondary treatment level. Treatment levels of below 10mg/l can be expected for: Total Suspended Solids (TSS) and  Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD5). The AdvanTex® often exceeds the claimed performance in actual sites.

AdvanTex® is approved by the NSF.

Several studies confirm the predictability of the performance of the AdvanTex® treatment plants.
The AdvanTex® has gone through the rigorous testing of the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) in the USA and has gained NSF accreditation.

Rotorua Controlled Testing - AdvanTex® comes out on top.

Many of the waterways and lakes around Rotorua are being polluted by septic tank effluent resulting in weeds and algae growing. It is mainly the nutrients in the liquid that are causing this, particularly nitrogen.  The Rotorua District Council, in conjunction with several Regional Authorities, tested several package treatment plants, including the AdvanTex® to see how much nitrogen they remove (as well as monitoring other measures treatment).  Some of the wastewater flow going in to the Rotorua municipal treatment plant was diverted to the package plants being tested. The flow that went to each system is identical and was controlled to simulate the flow variations from a house. The liquid coming out of the treatment plants was tested for how clean it was by measuring:

  • Carbonaceous Biological Oxygen Demand (cBOD5)
  • Total Suspended Solids (TSS)
  • Different forms of Nitrogen including total (TN)

The cBOD5 and TSS reached levels well under the claimed 10/10 mg/L and in fact were consistently both under 5mg/L now, with average monthly results below 2/2 mg/L. No other system to date has achieved this level of treatment and cleanliness. The total nitrogen (TN) in the liquid leaving the AdvanTex® was consistently around the 15 mg/L desired by the Local Authority. No other plant in the testing has reached this level so far. This provides assurance that the sensitive waterways will be protected for future generations if the AdvanTex® replaces current septic tanks and any new dwellings.
